So there's no broad support, because if there was no one could stop it. People use the Tea Party and the NRA as some type of all powerful boogeymen preventing all these wonderful laws from being enacted, forgetting that their members are made up of ordinary Americans as well. Everyone has one vote, no matter how rich or influential you are. * +

Tea party was started and financed by billionaires and used their millions to fight anything Obama planned. NRA have financially supported many congressmen/senators for years what ensures they will always support them * +

They support politicians who they already know are pro gun. Do they force people to vote for them as well? Why aren't more pro gun control politicians elected? * +

The NRA also runs the institute for legislative action set up in 1975 to lobby the government to support gun rights * +

And to those politicians what oppose them, nra will support their opponents in elections in exchange for support if elected * +

And if ordinary people had such huge a problem with them lobbying they wouldn't vote for the politicians that are in their pockets. There is no broad support for gun control in America. If there was, there would be more gun control. * +

And why shouldn't they? Of course they're going favour people who support them and oppose people who are against them. Everybody still has one vote each though. Even NRA members. * +
