Maybe it's connected to the two giant sunspots that were firing CMEs in our direction last week. Thankfully they're not facing our way anymore, for now at least. The sun is supposed to be in solar minimum at the moment, the quietest point in the solar cycle(approx 11yrs) but it's been a lot more active than usual this time around. * +
