James Alex Fields Jr has been convicted for the murder of Heather Heyer, 32, who died when fields deliberately drove his car at speed into a group of people protesting against the 'Unite the Right' white nationalist rally in Charlottesville last year.

Mr Fields, now faces 20 years to life in prison and will be sentenced at a later date.

The jury at Charlottesville City Circuit Court deliberated for less than a day before finnding him guilty on all charges, which included first degree murder; five counts of aggravated malicious wounding; three counts of malicious wounding and one count of hit and run.
