September has arrived, and brought with it normality for the time of year - nice sunny weather. Like you'd expect for summer.

No record temperatures, as autumn's on the doorstep, but everyone's pretending it's hot enough to be half-naked anyway. Or just trying to get a week out of it.

Yeah, about the no record temperatures thing.

The highest September temperature on record in the UK is 31.7'C back in 1911.

The warmest night was in 1947, with an overnight low temperature of 21.7'C.

Both those records could be broken today, with 32'C+ being forecast in parts of the UK with overnight lows in excess of 22'C.

I guess we'll know soon enough but you could well end up looking a wee bit silly tomorrow. * +
