Surely if we'd had a UBI scheme in place right now, it would have been enormously beneficial, millions of people would be a lot less stressed out and worried about their finances, and the whole covid situation in general. Just a thought. * +

Easy to promote feel good ideas and policies without talking about the specifics. Maths and socialists have never had a good relationship. * +

Cleaning requires skills, I know some grown men women that can't even wash dishes , it's either left with food stains or oily or both, and glasses must sparkle after its washed, that's why you wash it

people rarely want to step downwards, immigrants who come from a lower standard of living or who are very young can tolerate a job that barely covers any rent.

Haha have you checked the wage for fruit pickers?? Its more than the minimum wage.
It always has been more than the minimum wage. Usually between 10 and 12/ hr.

Also, how is going from scrounging-off-the-state/unemployed to being in a job and getting paid for picking fruit a step downward ?!? * +
