In the 70s they were all quite common and some of them safer to catch as a child than an adult. If you knew someone who had 1 of them your mum would take you round in the hope you would catch it and get it out of the way. * +

I had all the shots and stuff (born in 87), but I still got measles or something when I was a kid. And the NHS did some tests when I got pregnant. Apparently I have no immunity against rubella... makes me wonder what was actually in the shots they gave in SA. * +
