public enemy weren't gangsta... they were political

They all thought they were gangsta, I didn't like how hip hop evolved into that. You look back to the origins of hip hop it was none of that and they wanted to make it their own.
There are some great documentaries to watch.
Hip hop was an art form of expression, like the graffiti on the streets then these guys come along and make it about oppression and regression.
They turned it into a form of hate. * +

I know Ice Cube mentioned the hip hop around that time didn't represent their lives and that's why they broke away from that style and became more explicit. * +
