3g means 3rd generation, all fones wid 2 cameras r 3g, it alows u 2 make video calls 2 other ppl, n it has faster internet speeds than gprs, and edge. * +

3g means third generation packet data service. Connection speeds r @ around 384KB/S makin it up to 5 times faster than gprs. * +

In the uk now we even have 3.5g in some areas which is faster still. Otherwise known as HSCDPA. * +
