The battery is located, as illustrated, in a holder. Remove the battery, noting it's orientation, and fit a replacement making sure it is inserted the correct way around. You should immediately see the L.E.D start to flash, if not, then recheck the orientation of the battery. * +

The battery should, preferably, be an alkaline type although the type of battery is not too important, and an ordinary inexpensive replacement cell can be used, as once the box has been initially operated on it is very easy to change the battery on the next, necessary, occasion. * +

Once the L.E.D. is flashing again and you have finished your examination of the circuit then slide the circuit back into the box carefully locating the L.E.D. using the knife, be careful not to short and of the circuit connections, with slight pressure on the white sticky double-sided tape only, into it's recess on the spine of the box. * +

Next relocate the cardboard partition, again, using the knife, you should find that the lip of the partition will locate and slide back towards the spine of the box with ease. * +
