My sympathies to the family and friends of all those who lost their lives or were injured. I have to say that the venue itself seemed hugely inappropriate for such a massive event. * +

The event was held on an enclosed parade ground instead of it's usual open-air location, and it could only be accessed via a tunnel. As the crush built up, people panicked and tried to escape but they were surrounde by high walls. 19 dead from around the world and around 350 injuries. * +

why would you create a single-entry event for a festival of this magnitude? The organizers were negligent and the police plan in-place was obviously not sufficient to control the flow of traffic with too many unobserved blind-areas where people could try to get around the barricades. You have to plan your crowd flow controls in-depth to every single detail when organizing something on this scale.. love parade no more * +
