I am an idiot because what I have read seems to suggest 1080i is better on a bigger tv? right ok. * +

No, because you made this topic then ignored all the advice contained therein, preferring to believe something written elsewhere about screen size which makes no difference to choosing between interlaced or progressive scan.

You have been told the difference, 1080i technically carries more data, but because it scans at half speed compared to 720p, you end up with artifacts generating around fast moving objects.

Therefore on most video games which have a whole s**t load of fast motion, 720p going to offer a marginally cleaner picture. You probably wouldn't notice anyway, and console image quality is hardly good in the first place.

If it's a 720p native HDTV, then you set it to 720p and forget about it. I'll say again, End of story. * +

Ignored what advice? someone said 720, someone said 1080. Someone said games change to 720 with a? I have read up a lot on this, but it's all the same, some say 1080i, some say 720p. From my experience I would say 1080i is better, but I haven't tested it enough to come to a conclusion. * +

What's the resolution of the tv? Don't just say it's a 40 inch TV and expect a perfect answer.. * +

gr8guy78 29.12.14 - 06:37pm
Crt is better in some ways. The resolution is 1,366 x 768. * +

CRT is better if you're watching vhs videos or playing on anything from the 8/16/64 bit days.. otherwise, no.. just no * +
