So I got the ps3 plugged into a Samsung fhd tv with a hdmi cable. When playing games the tv goes back to 720p. Does the ps3 upscale to 1080p or do I need change settings on the tv? * +

certain games run in 720p or 1080p it depends on the game but when going back to the XMB it returns to 1080p look in settings on the PS3 in Display Settings make sure your output settings are set for 1080p * +

ps3 does it automatic, most games are 720.. Only a few are 1080p * +

Yeah XMB is 1080p and changed output to 1080p. Just thought games would also output to the same res. Thanks * +

that's cos it doesn't attempt to upscale and make them look a mess like the 360 does. * +
