If you go to a vault our descendant starts off as vault dweller/tribal etc or your vault is raided by super mutants and you start the game proper as one of them. Or you stay in the city and you turn ghoul.. Or you play a descendant of yours who became a raider. Each character cla55 has it's own unique perks and characteristics. Ghouls don't have a radiation meter for instance.. Instead they have a * +

Feral meter, you are constantly striving to not become feral. If you do it is like you died. Super mutants are dumb and ugly, can't use lots of armour etc but can make weapons out of items which other players can't. * +
