Get this! 
ME1 had kinda crappy graphics and so on..
ME2 was a huge jump in terms of graphics and gameplay.. crouch option replaced with cover option.
No unlimited ammo, you have to replace spent thermal clips.. making the game somewhat more challenging.
When you start on ME1 and finish it..
you can then continue with that same character and choices you've made in ME2...
Your choices have repercussions.
ME1 in this has been revamped, allowing current players to better appreciate the series. * +

You farm planets for resources.. there's plenty of ME Lore to read about in-game.
Various different known alien species.
