what I meant was at some point the xenomorphs we know now have to burst out of that space jockey the nostromo crew found.
for that to happen they have to return to the planet David was on to get that exact strain of xenomorph and take it to LV426, die there, and leave a ship with a fu*k ton of eggs.

Is weird but this film has now changed it to plant spores exploding on been touched and causing chest bursters ....these are like streamline cats . Didn't realise it was James Franco in that pod till they looked back at the mountain camcorder footage * +

Apparently the novel/deleted scenes connects the dots. David finds an alien egg inside a petrified space jockey and reverse engineers it. Also apparently he uses his real identity to send a message to the weyland headquarters to let them know he has xenomorths. *
