There are a lot of things that don't make sense. Nathan is supposedly a genius but uses a single key card that grants access to everything. Wouldn't be better to use some kind of facial recognition or a biometrical system to prevent someone from stealing it? If Ava really wanted to escape she could have just taken the key card from Nathan since he regularly visited her in her room. * +

Yeah, it's great despite its many inconsistencies - the robot Eva design is gorgeous and it makes its AI/Turing test point well. *
