i wouldn't bother with an e36 now, second hand cars of this nature has had a rough life and is bound to be in need of some work. Bmw parts aint cheap. I'd get something newish and do some some mods like software exhaust. Cupra, st 170, megane sport, polo gti something like that * +

the 4 door e36 m3 was only releasd in sa as bmw sa had an excess of 4 door shels.and the 3.2 did c*m in da 2 door aswel.it was jus the las of the e36 m3's.and bmw spares arnt that exp anymor. Eg. New toyota corola wheel bearing is 1200. E36 and e46 wheel bearing is 450 to 650. * +
