Okay the power wire to the old radio, hook it up to the red and yellow/orange wire( power and mem) , connect the earth wire to the body and the radio should switch on * +

datsun wiresthat were on the radio: blue (power), black (speaker -) red(speaker plus) . cd player wires: yellow wire (memory back up) red (power lead, accessory 12v) black (ground, i know how to ground btw) orange/white (illumination lead) * +

so i hook the old radio power lead to both the memory and power on the cd player? does that mean the cd will always be on?

yes, the radio will not switch off if you switch the car off. * +

also, the orange wire says youre supposed to hook it to the 'car power supply terminal' for illumination what theis power supply terminal and does this mean the cd face wont light up unless its connected? ffs, the 120y had all the wires already hooked up in that lol * +
