Nah you dont block them. I can't actually locate the speaker at the top. I think it comes through the screen I think you would get more of a stereo effect with them on the side. Like the old s60s * +

oh right what plays well from PSP ? is it Soul Calibre that's the mental beat em up ? that was good.
if you tweaked the settings God of War just about plays but I haven't tried that much. * +
