just tried towelroot on my i9500 it said it's not supported. Not sure if it's coz of the firmware being 4.4.2 * +

Just to give my 2 cents. I decided to try my hand at rooting and as much as it was an easy thing to do none of the apps seemed to work, from towelroot to kingroot etc. what worked for me in the end was mobogenie. so i suggest try different apps and just get the procedure for each before you begin and perhaps luck will be on your side and one of them will work. * +
