whatsapp is international for the same price as your normal data... not everyone is on contract... you can make calls even while in airplane mode !!!

What about viber? Though I have both whatsapp and viber I hardly use either, but based on my contacts list synching, both apps are similarly popular here amongst my friends at least * +

some guys used super user command to activate it on android phones.. su -c am start -n com.whatsapp/com.whatsapp.com.HomeActivity * +
