contact your network 1st of all, if they've given you a sim for 4g that suggests they offer that service, but I wouldn't be surprised that it was only available in Lagos or other big cities.
find out what frequency bands your network uses and whether they support your phone for 4g or 3.5g and whether it is activated on your simcard or not.

it might involve having to use firmware from a different region to get those bands active so information first is essential.

it's probably like mel said and your countrys 4g infrastructure is still sh*t
and they dont give a fk about people's in the badlands , some places round here don't get any signals at all due to geography and because almost no c*nts live there , putting up an extra mast isn't worth it when a mile further along 4g works.

Phone your provider and vent your anger at having no excellent Superfast 4 g

putting your underpants on your head whilst call them may improve the signal reception. * +

in some territories 4g is what we call 3.5g or HSDPA, it used to be like that in America. so it could be that way in Nigeria. * +

As said, network coverage issue. Not hardware issue * +

no it can be a device issue.

when I went to Florida I payed 150 dollars for 8 weeks of 4g unlimited but I only got 3.5g.
even though the phone received all the frequency bands they weren't ''switched on'' because I had European firmware.

found out when I got home that there's a way I could have changed it without changing everything to do it, but that was the S4 * +
