Does anyone know what percentage of apps on the store are 64 bit or is it just about games at present? ive googled this but got absolutely nowhere, almost as if google are keeping quiet about it which is ironic since they made such a big thing about it at the start. maybe its cos there are still very few 64 bit apps? and thats why they are keeping quiet. * +

And I wonder how long it will be before all apps are written in 64 bit? at which point all 32 bit devices will become paperweights? * +

I doubt 32bit devices will be paperweights, not withing the next 3years. Most newer mid and high end devices are 64bit. If I'm not mistaken its possible to make apps support both, they just adjust depending on the SoC. * +

I guessed it would be a while but I was just curious. but I agree they could be designed to support both. 64 bit droid tablets were very late to arrive here, much later than the phones but I obviously dont know about other markets. * +

Its the same in most markets. Android Tablets aren't well treated, they tend to get internals that are a generation or 2 old vs. the latest Android Smartphones. Tablet industry is dying, manufacturers have been investing less into it for the last 18months. People keep them much longer, and more people are getting Phablets instead. * +

I know what you mean. A fast android tablet could be classed as a mid range smartphone in terms of performance (model dependent) * +
