Like I said, using older versions of android is fine, so is 5.0.1 and 5.1.1, but only have this problem with 5.1. * +

one thing you could try, it works for some but not for others. activate your developer options...

go to settings / scroll down to about phone and click it / find your build number and tap on it rapidly 6 or 7 times.
when done correctly you should have a new menu option called developer options.

if that lists an option called ''use legacy DHCP client'' tick that and maybe reboot to test it out. * +

Doesn't have that option. From what I've quickly read, that seems to be for android 6. *
