Yes tried that and still happens. I exchanged the phone yesterday for a new one and this does exactly the same. * +

I think it may have something to do with the version of android. The two other phones are KitKat and gingerbread. The G2 mini was Lollipop but think was 5.0.2, this phone is 5.1. * +

Since this post I've got an Xbox one, but rather than go through the PC, I do it directly wireless and the same thing happens on that. I have to put my SIM in a wildfire to be able to do it. Does nobody have any idea what is making it disconnect from live using my main phone (kazam Thunder 550, android 5.1) * +

And the funny thing is (on xb1) if I'm watching YouTube or downloading, everything is fine, but when it comes to multiplayer, it disconnects within 10min. * +

a lot of lollipop and marshmallow phones have temperamental Wi-Fi connections. my phone will show the Wi-Fi signal dip to nothing and then come back again to full within seconds.
if the 5.1 phone is doing this the Xbox might disconnect because there's no signal for a few seconds.
don't suppose you can use tethering on an Xbox can you ? * +

How do you mean about tethering on Xbox? The WiFi signal is strong and not dropping, there must be a way around this problem. * +
