I doubt many use file browsers. even for the novice a one click root app (seeing as it's kitkat) followed by SDfix is easier as it writes to your buildprop file. unrooting afterwards leaves you still good to go * +

I understand if you got limited internal memory but I always found apps run smoother when they are stored on internal memory * +

with this limitation third party apps can only download files to their own folder on internal memory which is pants if you want your media on your micro SD. it's not about app data... * +
