pretty sure Iplayer has been updated for lollipop but I'm gonna go check. it is funny that playback quality is better by MILES if you stream rather than download...

they say they are aware of user problems with kitkat, no mention of lollipop. they don't seem to know how to fix it if they're asking google to help them...

Think your correct but obviously the fix hasn't worked for everyone. * +

I had Iplayer problems on a GE rom so it's not touchwiz. it's not just Samsung users complaining... * +

Blaming the OEM skin is a cop-out as most OEMs incl. Samsung have stuck to 5.0 guidelines far more than any other Android release. It sounds like iPlayer has not been properly optimised, seems to be the BBC at fault more than anything, the variations of Android hardware (CPUs, GPUs, Audio HW etc...) make it quite difficult, they should have QCd the app properly before releasing the update.

There will be a lot of the above this year thanks to Qualcomm switching CPU architecture a couple of times this year, from Krait (S805) to A53/57 Octa (S810) then to their new architecture (S820) later this year, Android gaming is going to suffer the most, and specialised apps like iPlayer will to. * +

the issue has still not been resolved. iplayer still fails to work on my S5, when it attempts to stream the screen just goes blank. but works fine on my Note 4 on kitkat. * +
