Out of curiosity, why is it you don't want to unlock the bootloader? I can't see any downsides to unlocking it. I haven't seen anything that says relocking shows up anywhere on the device as it being previously unlocked. Everything is just back to exactly the same as it was when it left the factory.
What am I missing?

You don't lose DRM keys because you backup the TA partition first, DRM keys are stored in it. You can build a stock FW but just add the root, so it's not a custom firmware. It's like I said, if you do it right you lose nothing and you can restore back to how it left the factory. * +
