But there's not much difference in the G3 vs 4.4. You will be getting the 'real' 5.0. I have a G3. Updating isn't really an exciting thing with LG. * +

Oetinger, the point of 5.0 is the major changes under the hood e.g. the move from JIT Compiling to ART compiling, meaning the phones will be much faster and apps will launch faster, also better MicroSD support, 64bit support, better GPU support, more API, low-latency audio support (although Note 4 and Note Edge already have this in 4.4.4), and a lot more.

LG can't change the UI, remember phones like G3, GS5, One M8 etc...are customer friendly phones, many 'average' phone users use them and they want a consistent interface, they don't want to do an update that completely change their phone and suddenly have to relearn how to use that phone and get familiar with the UI again. * +

Yeah I understand Polo, however the new Android would of been much more exciting to see if the cosmetics were also updated. I probably should of bought the Nexus instead of the G3 as I am more off a techy than just a user however I do love my G3. Nice smartphone but honestly too much hype around it. * +

updates= more bugs to endure. android L will be available for note 4 and galaxy S5 before the year is out. I wont be rushing to update, cos I believe if it aint broke why fix it. or at least wait untill the new bugs have been ironed out. they always say never buy or get the first version of anything in life and thats wise. after all look what happened with ios8! * +
