The connection on my phone where the charger goes in has broke. I am trying to charge the battery but having no success. I have cut the end off the charger and put the black wire on one if the minus, and white on one of the plus. On the battery there's 4 bits, 2 plus and 2 minus, what exactly should i be doing? * +

1st what phone? 2nd avoid that method, it'll kill your battery, rather get a battery charger. 3rd it's usually the outer contacts that are - +. Good luck * +

I had few phones that's happened to. You can get an external charger with battery fairly cheap on eBay..send phone back if its still under warranty though.. * +

yeah he'll have ran out of charge. I've used this method before myself however there are usually more than two contacts on the battery, it's usually the innermost two that are part of the charging circuit but not always and the last time i did it was on a nokia 3510i *
