Apparently LG are using two Display manufacturers, one is their in-house LG Display and the other is JDI, not sure which one is making the inferior panel but there does seem to be a display lottery going on, sounds like you got lucky and got the better panel in your G3. * +

Im running a internal test V10j firmware and the phone is a whole new experience compared to that bug filled overheating mess the original v10a was. A user on xda made a request to lg for a bootloader unlock even made a petition and lg replied they will unlock it Good times ahead for this phone Some ppl on xda found a place to turn off the framelimiter so it was fluidly 60frames-per-second and lg noticed it and included it in the newer firmware updates Very pleased with lg-s fast support this far. *
