What way does gprs actually work? Like the ip.. People calling it a proxy.. Do we connect through our network to the box /server that owns the ip or what like a real proxy? So can we set up our own server and bypass billing? People were like yeah change the port to blah and its free.. Did that work? Any one nmapped o2s ips to find more listening ports? Whats the apn about? * +

The standards that cover the GPRS you may read. However, the phones using GPRS use it for connection to a private- (or government-) owned base-station for phones. For the public to have legal access to the service (GPRS) they use SIM-cards. You may use an internet-server with wireless access through some means like blue-tooth, infrared or whatever. GPRS-licenses are multi-million dollar projects. * +

When using GPRS, you are bound to pay the charges that the issuer of the SIM have. No SIM, no legal access! As for IP-address. There is one address between the phone and the transmitter of the phone company. Then there is another address that is used to enter internet. The last one may change every time you connect, or it may remain in which case the port-number onto the internet changes only. *
