Its not only a credit card that they link your account with. Any debit card that is PIN-less. Mine is linked to my cheque(check) card. Thats how I send/receive funds * +

when money is sent to an email, how is it retrieved? am just wondering how money can be sent via email. * +

you link your email to your paypal account which in turn is linked to your bank account. When someone pays you via paypal, the money is transferred into your bank account. If you are paying by paypal, you can either 'top up' your paypal balance and pay from that, or pay direct from your bank account * +
