There can be any number of reasons - every element of your email settings needs to be correct for it to connect to the server. It depends on your local Yahoo provider whether the extension is .com, .co.uk, .in, .pl or whatever, sometimes your username needs to be entered as: username@yahoo.com rather than just username. It varies by network and area, check your user manual and see if it advises * +

any specific email settings from your provider, or if your network has a wapsite that your phone CAN load, have a browse through that, as I'm afraid that in the UK I wouldn't be able to advise with regard to any network-specific settings for your geographic area. * +
