Gmail is probably the best - virtually unlimited storage, pop3 or IMAP support, easy to setup for pop3 on your phone or you can use the Gmail java app (you can't send attachments with the java app though). * +

Whats needed is a simple wap based email sites thats quick to load. Option of sending/recieving attatchments (like pushinbox) and a paid option (maybe 10 to 15quid a year) of recieving alerts as texts or service messages with a direct link to your new email. * +

But greggie - if you set up free pop3 on your device with either push or short time interval retrieval, why would you need all that? I've got one Gmail account pushed via Activesync and a copy of emails from my other main accounts forwarded to the pushed addy, so everything arrives immediately (well, inside around 8 seconds). * +
