i just got an o2 payg 160 dongle and i was wondering can i use my own o2 payg mobile phone sim card in it as i get free internet on it..any help would be great. sorry if ive posted in wrong forum... * +

If you connect your phone to pc, dial up and browse free with it then using your SIM card with the USB modem might work. But it depends on the access point name you are going to use while establishing a connection. (I'm talking based on my experience with MTN Nigeria, I use the Huawei e170) * +

I don't know about your e160 but on my e170 there's a slot just on top the USB plug, you pull it out put any of your network SIM cards inside, and you slot it back in, create a connection profile using the corresponding network's access point name and then you dial up that's all. (I actually bought mine from MTN but I can use any other Network SIM card to create a connection). Please read the instructions manual that came with the device. * +

You can use the sim card for the modem, but I think the free wap is limited to phone only, you won't be able to browse free on pc using it. Anyway try dialing up using the free wap access point, if it dials up successfully without any error messages then you can browse free with it but if it doesn't then you'll have to ask O2 for an internet/web APN. In this case u're going to have to subscribe. There is a possibility that the wap APN may connect but u won't recieve any bytes. * +
