.EXT is a relatively defunct extension that used to be used by Norton Commander for Windows 95. Many ebooks are in .TXT format, are you sure you don't mean that? If you do have a valid ebook with that extension, change it to .txt using a file explorer - you'll find that most ebook readers regardless of their proprietary format will also read .txt files. *
