I'm still kinda new to this whole wap thing, a few people have told me that if I use opera mini instead of my phone's default browser, it will be cheaper and faster. A higher page loading speed i can believe, but will it really be cheaper? And if so, how can this be so? ..layman's terms for a noob please.... * +

Are there any hacks i can use to further decrease the data charges? * +

Turning images off in any browser always reduces your data charges massively (pics and gifs use up loads of data) although it obviously makes the browsing less pleasing aesthetically. Opera Mini compresses and reformats pages prior to sending them to your phone and it can reduce the amount of data from a content-heavy webpage by 80 percent or so. * +

You may have noticed for instance that Mini doesn't animate the cliparts on here - the gif animation for the clip could be anything from 4 to 20kb, however the one-frame image Mini shows you may only be 800b or so, so you can see the massive data save just there. * +

Many thanks garion, that's much clearer. 80 less is pretty impressive. And thanks for the tip re: images. ..Right, i'm sold. Gonna stick with opera from now on. Lol. Thanks again. :) * +
