Well it'll largely depend on whether the games are Symbian or java - java games are often horribly slow anyway, but as with all games, you should ensure you've got plenty of RAM free before playing - close any running applications (including pop3, gps etc.) for optimum performance, sometimes it's worth switching your phone off and on if you've been using lots of applications. *
