i was just curious to know how long does it take for a phone to block once it is reported stolen? I mean is it immediate for all uk networks? Ive asked a fair few people this n ive been given different answers ranging from immediate to 2 weeks, 2 weeks!? By that time the theif would have sold or traded the phone with a mug if thats true. * +

its the point that when a phone is stolen... By the thief... You contact your network to block your phone ok... But to take the mick more... If it takes up to 2 weeks for the phone to block... By then the thief has sold the phone n has financially gained. If the phone blocks immediately then great... It is a fair question to ask as a customer. * +

The network block the sim and the imei number is also usually barred if it's a contract phone, barring the imei makes it usless to anybody in the uk, u cant legally change a phones imei number so once its barred it wont take any sim on any network! If u ring your network to report it stolen it's immediate it doesnt take weeks or days and if it isnt immediate its within the hour! * +
