Some filles are protected and such filles when downloaded on a phone cant be send out. Is there any way it can be send out ie is there any software that can handle that ? If there is where can it be downloaded and how does it function ? * +

I presume you've got a Nokia, as the 'cannot send protected files' message pops up with anything except pics and .amr tones. If it's s60, you have a number of options - use Xplore, or Profile Explorer to send via bluetooth and MMS-IT to send via mms, I'm not sure what the solution would be for s40, but you could try asking in that forum. * +

some protected files are recognised as locked in some phones and unlocked in others, but a file that has the .drm extension CANNOT be forwarded by any phone! * +

drm stands for digital rights management. there are examples of such files in the zain wap homepage in the freebies ringtones.. as far as i know u can't forward such files thru mms, bluetooth or infrared! * +

The applications I mentioned are only available for s60 phones - Profile Explorer is part of the Profimail email client app, Xplore is a stand alone file explorer by the same people. If those options aren't available, you could try renaming the file extension as mentioned above, but the reciever has to be aware of this and be able to rename it back themselves. * +
