ok i might look thick but who cares. im very much sure that im in a bad 3g signal area as my wap is always rubbish, is there anyway that i can eitha turn off 3g n just use normal gprs? thanx * +

yes u can.. goto settings network and network selection and then click manual. da fone wil search and then show da networks avalabl. dr click Da network u use with 2g in front of it * +

Do Nokias fight amongst themselves then? :) jj but yes, switching from 'dual mode' in 'tools/settings/network' to 'gsm' will keep you on 2g. * +

You don't really get 3g 'settings', your phone either has 3g capability (in which case it'll usually have the switching options mentioned above) or it's not. You could have a 3g phone with a 2g sim in it however, in which case you could get yourself a 3g sim. What phone do you have? * +
