O.k I got this Fastlink e220 usb wireless modem on a contract with MTN, every month I get 350mb but when I quickly for example go to google to browse for 1minute it takes 22.5mb of my 350mb bundle. Can it really be? I was 2nites on the net, not even download stuff and all 350mb is history! This is a money making scheme if u ask me. I pay R190 a month to go like 2times on da internet..? * +

Disable all automatic updates in your software options includings windows updates and antivirus updates. that's chowing your airtime, for sure. Also use a firewall that'll ask you if you want to unblock if an app tries to update. That sucks dude, sry about that. * +

Remember even apps like adobe reader etc. will try and update if you don't disable the updates in the options or use a firewall and only allow connections from your browser, also turn off updates in your browser. if u use firefox, disable updates for your updates/ extensions as well, good luck mate. * +

Thanx for ur advice guys, but will it also cost more if Im connected to hsdpa all the time? Will it also help if I turn off firewall completely? * +

Dnt turn firewall of, download Sunbelt Personal Firewall, its free and alows you to block internet traffic that doesnt come from your browser. HSDPA is only a connection speed and doesnt charge more. It my take more money in a short time than GPRS or EDGE because your are obviously browsing faster. Hope it helps. You can download firewall at www.filehippo.com when you instal it remember to select LEARNING MODE, its bout 6mb * +
