I'm currently awaiting a sony ericsson k800i which i intend to use as a modem with my pc. The bumf says that the phone comes with web n walk and that browsing on the phone costs no more than 1 pound per day. Will i be able to use the phone as a modem? The reason i ask, i saw an ad a while ago that said you can use a t-mob phone as a modem if you have web n walk plus, which costs more than......... * +

web n walk (4 pounds per day instead of 1 pound per day, i believe). So, is anyone here using a t-mob phone as modem, on the 1 pound per day web n walk thingy? Are my fears unfounded? * +

yes they are unfounded, I use nokia n70 on laptop standard rates ie pound a day or the 2.50 bolton. never had problem * +

Once you get your phone buy a just sim package from tmobile 1500 any network off peak mins 800 anytime texts and unlimited web all for 22quid! Bargain! I bin on it for ages better than a pound a day or 5 days for 2.50 do the maths your quids in! * +

Wow! Ive got my k800i now and i am seriously impressed by 3g speed. I can actually watch youtube videos stream... when i was using a gprs phone as modem, i had to download vids to watch em, gprs connect speed just wasnt up to scratch! Torrents still dont seem very quick, but i can live with that i guess! * +

Tell you something though... according to the small print, walk n web pound-a-day or 2.50 package is not allowed to be used for a phone as modem or for downloading peer-to-peer! And im doing both! T-mobiles gonna get me!! * +
