Orange is the best for speed especially on 3G, while O2 is the best for value. * +

Sounds good. It's also worth comparing the signal strength for the two networks where you live before buying a phone. * +

You should get good coverage from either in the West Mids. O2 works out the cheapest if all you want is wap access, but large downloads/torrents/peer to peer and browsing apps and some pop3 are blocked (currently) on o2, whereas with Orange you're free to do what you want with your access, but it's more expensive. * +
