It's the term used for the GPRS connection you need to browse or connect to the internet via other applications on your phone. Sometimes you'll get the message 'subscribe to packet data' when you use an application that needs to connect to the internet and you haven't defined a connection point for it, or if you've inserted a new sim into a phone which doesn't auto-recognise the GPRS settings * +
