I'm just wondering. Have mtn closed their smtp or blocked their servers from anyone who wants to send emails through their smtp from their inbuilt email client in the phone. Can anyone on mtn network send emails from their phone with the built in email feature not opera? * +

I don't know whether this will work with mtn, but if your phone network provider offers free email accounts (whether you've registered or not) you can usually use their smtp server, for instance for Orange this would be smtp.orange.net - I use this method with Yahoo to stop ads being appended to my mails. * +

Thats the thing garion, i was able to send before by using that method since im on yahoo. But now i cant seem to be able to send and im sure my settings are all correct. Thats why im puzzled at not being able to send. I know mtn updated their servers but could that be the reason? * +

A search of the web shows that a number of people have had this problem - the solution for most people seems to be to use mail.mtn.co.za as the smtp server. Hope this helps. * +

Wow, it works. Thanx garion. I neva even knew other ppl had the same problem. Lyk sending emails on the fly without going to the internet. Thanx again. Sorry for going of topic but what about the server of yahoo messenger if i want to use the inbuilt im feature? * +
