Y is browsing so slow even on a 3g phone but amazingly fast on a pc when using phone as modem? Eg Prodigits on pc is lightening quick compared to phone. * +

Its because the PC will keep a constant connection with the server while phones will disconnect to try keep down the data transfere (which actually results in higher data transfere), there are TCP connections that will keep constant connections and are quicker as they dont need to reconnect to ping the server. * +

And before you say Opera Mini uses TCP its kind of misleading, it does actually keep a constant connection with Opera BUT Opera dont keep constant connections with servers due to its popularity hense its still rather slow at ping'ing servers. * +

The slowness is bcos of the d*mn slow network providers and the latency under extreme load of all the wap customers. *
