How is it sometimes that you can download an mp3 file, that fully downloads, that has doesnt take up loads of kb on the phone, the file format is supported and yet it still says Unable to open file? *

The way the MP3 is encoded might be the problem. Some phones may not support an MP3 if it has a bitrate that the phone doesn't support, or not encoded with a specified lossless codec for example *
