some people sent me 2 sms messages for a competition and they charge you R10 a message for replying. i didn't reply but i was still charged. did anyone else experience this today? * +

Call your sp and found maybe you have subscribed to a service its a premature matter to label it a scam i think * +

did the sms have a number or short sms code with it? what were the details of the msg? * +

This can happen to you even if you haven't personally subscribed, someone could have subscribed using your number by mistake or it could be malicious.. if you recieve further messages and you have the senders details, send an sms to that number containing the word 'STOP', this is an internationally-agreed standard. If messages continue, you can then approach the appropriate regulatory body. * +

the message says win an ipod by replying to a question that they ask and they tell you that the sms costs R10. i did not respond but i was still charged. i contacted vodacom and they gave me the name mira networks and i've sent emails to the ceo and to waspa. its not a subscription service. * +
